Everyone likes to make their life a little bit easier. So here are 12 pieces of kit to make your life easier in airsoft. We’ve got items that suit different types of players. It doesn’t matter what type of Airsoft you play, there will be something in this list to make your life easier.
Some items on this list are going to be obvious, but some of them you might not have even heard of.
First up, we’ve got a something for the Pyro users out there, the Kydex Customs Pyro Striking Plate.
If you’re using something like the Mark 5 Thunder Flash, this will make it easier than ever to set it off. You just put the Striking Plate on your Molle System, strike your fire against it, and it’ll light it. Super Easy. Kydex Customs are new here at BZ and they’ve got a full range of holsters, magazine carriers and more.
Another one for you Pyro lovers. If you’re using 209 Primers for things like Frag Grenades, you need to get yourself an AirTac 209 Primer Holder. This is a super simple bit of kit. If you’re using 209 Primers, rather than carrying them around in a tray in your kit bag, you just fill the Primer Holder with Primers. All you do is put it over your grenade or whatever you’re using, press the dispenser and put your 209 Primer right in the grenade.
This one is obvious, get yourself a good quality speed loader. The easiest thing to do is getting yourself an automatic speed loader. Something like the EMG “Autobot”, the T238, or if you really want to spend money you can go for the Vanguard Pro. The Vanguard Pro is going to make loading magazines the easiest thing in the world. But not everyone has Vanguard Pro money.
The bad thing about automatic speed loaders is that if the battery dies, you’re screwed. To avoid this, get yourself a good quality manual speed loader. We recommend KWA Speed Loaders; we’ve been using for years in our tech centre.
Now, judging by the smells that come from a lot of CQB sites, a lot of airsofters struggle to keep themselves clean, but that shouldn’t be an excuse when it comes to your gun. You need to keep your barrel clean and free of any debris and residue. That’s why you need to get yourself a barrel cleaning and unjamming kit like the Rebel Precision Barrel Cleaning Kit.
There are other kits out there on the market, but there’s not too many options, especially in the UK. This cleaning kit is cheap, and you get everything you need in it. It doesn’t matter if you’re using a pistol, a rifle or a sniper rifle, the Rebel Precision Barrel Cleaning Kit will clean barrels up to 700mm. Keeping your barrel clean keeps your gun performing at its best and consistently.
Another obvious one, slings. If you’re sick of carrying your gun around all day, get yourself a good quality sling. We’ve just launched the Rebel Precision Slings with single point, two-point and three-point. This just saves you carrying your gun around but keeps it accessible.
Up next, this is for the HPA Tank Pouch users. If you’re sick of carrying your HPA Tank around all day, you can get yourself a Molle Tank Holder. With the Rebel Precision HPA Tank Holder, you just pop the tank inside, fasten it up and attach it to yourself via Molle. This is a universal tank holder, it’ll fit everything up to 88ci. So, unless you’re using a massive 98ci HK Army Tank or you’re bringing some scuba gear with you, this has you covered.
When you’re out, protect your feet, especially outside, you don’t want to be ruining your favourite trainers on the field. You want a good pair of boots when you’re playing airsoft, especially if you’re outside.
Don’t underestimate the importance of a good pair of boots when you’re playing Airsoft. It might be a little bit of an investment, but your feet will thank you for it.
Now, if you’re someone who wears a paintball mask and you’re experience fogging and sweating, you need to get yourself a headband. It sounds really simple, but if you look at any tournament paintball player, they’re all wearing headbands. Headbands keep the sweat away from your forehead, they help and creates a barrier between your face and the mask. By keeping the barrier, this provides a bit of ventilation to prevent fogging.
Get yourself come Heavyweight BBs or a Chronograph.
Chronographs help you see what FPS your airsoft rifle is firing at so, before you go to a site, you’re not too hot or you can use it to judge what upgrades you need. It also makes it easier to see how effective your upgrades are.
If you feel like you’re not getting enough out of your airsoft rifle, it could just be you’re not using BBs that are heavy enough. If you’ve got a good quality rifle, try some heavier BBs. With heavyweight BBs, you’re going to get a better shot if your rifle can handle them.
If you’re playing indoors, you’re going to be restricted by site limits on what weight you can go up to. If you’re playing outdoors, you can try them out and see how you get on.
This next one is Silent Dry Dehumidifying Stones. These go inside your hard case or gun bag, and they suck any moisture out of your kit that might be in there. So, if you’ve been playing outdoors and it’s been a bit of a wet day, you might end up with moisture inside your gun.
Now, you want to be using your barrel cleaning kit that we mentioned earlier, but you also want to put a Silent Dry Dehumidifying Stone in your kit as well. This will not only stop rusting, but it will prevent moisture causing electrical damage.
This might all sound extreme, but it does happen. It happened to one of our members of staff, who ironically, has a Silent Dry Humidifying Stone, but didn’t use it. Because he didn’t use it, the electronics inside his gun were damaged. He was at the Sterling Airsoft Game and during the safety briefing, his gun just started firing full-auto and it wasn’t on. It was unsafe, but it was caused by the moisture damage inside the gun. So, to avoid embarrassing situations like that, get yourself a Silent Dry Dehumidifying Stone.
Now the most important thing when it comes to airsoft is safety. When you're in the safe zone, your gun should be on safe and should have the mag removed. Now unfortunately accidents do happen. People either forget or aren't aware of the site rules or some sites aren't really enforcing the proper safety rules. I'm sure 99% of you out there are following the rules. You take your mags out; you're being safe in the safe camp.
For extra safety you can get yourself a Barrel Sock. So, if for some reason your gun accidentally fires, a barrel sock will catch it. They're cheap, they just make things a bit safer. They don't look the best admittedly on an airsoft gun, but better safe than sorry.
If you struggle to reload magazines fast, and to pull them from pouches, get Magazine Base Plates. These are cheap and they just give you something to grab on to. They make life so much easier when you’re out on the field and you need to reload quickly.
Some magazines come with a magazine plate included, like the Amarok 250’s, but you can buy them separately.
